{"id":469,"date":"2019-01-15T19:51:22","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T19:51:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fuchs-choreography.de\/?page_id=469"},"modified":"2019-01-15T21:23:01","modified_gmt":"2019-01-15T21:23:01","slug":"an-stelle-von-heimat","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fuchs-choreography.de\/en\/an-stelle-von-heimat\/","title":{"rendered":"Instead of Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cAn Stelle von Heimat \/ halte ich die Verwandlungen der Welt\u201d (Instead of home, I hold the transformation of the world), writes Nelly Sachs in one of her best-known poems which builds the dramaturgical bridge for the tripartite ballet evening. Works by three Jewish composers, forced into exile as their works were defamed by the Nazis as \u201cdegenerate music\u201d, constitute the musical foundation. Inspired by the composers\u2019 lives, the two corner elements of the evening show humans in exceptional circumstances, thereby reflecting on social conditions that are still part of the human coexistence long after the time of the compositions. While the musical language of Weill und Waxman still resonates with our modern attitude towards life, Korngold\u2018s composition seems to evoke a past golden era.
