Giselle
In his version of the ballet “Giselle”, Steffen Fuchs sees the leading role as a young woman who, due to her dominant mother and her father’s premature death, suffers from bipolar disorder. In his choreography, he explores the area of conflict between light and darkness that Giselle, being an outcast of society, lives in. Merely tolerated by the community of her village, she loses her heart to the man who shares her passion for dance – Albert. Albert, however, loses his lover after Giselle leaves the world in her extreme depression.
